I recently bought a hunter’s cuckoo clock with the dancing people. It has three chain pulls and weights- I’m guessing, one for each of the qualities (the clock, the cuckoo bird, and the dancing people).

I have two questions..
1) How do I know which weight goes on which chain pull?
2) When the minute hand gets to about the 55-minute mark, the ticker stops working. Any help?

Hi. I picked up an antique grandfather clock at an auction this weekend. It did not have the weights and pendulum nor the key. There was a small block of granite that was being used as a weight at the bottom of the case. This leaves me to believe that maybe it would work if I had the proper replacement parts. How do I know what materials I need? I’m not really interested in contacting a clock person at this point. I just want to get the proper materials and see for myself if it works. It is very gothic looking and is by Colonial Mfg. Zeeland Michigan. There is an instruction card that says for Movements Nos. 38, 39, 61, 68, 82, 88. Although it talks of how to hang the weights and pendulum it does not give any information about their replacement. If anyone can tell me about this clock or give me any information at all on what I need for parts I’d really appreciate it. I can supply pictures if necessary. Thanks!

The clock is suppose to chime every quarter of an hour and at the hour it strikes according to the time. One strike for 1 o’clock, 2 strikes for 2 o’oclock, and so on. Presently, it only chimes on the 9, and not correctly. Any clock Doctor in the house? Pleaseeeeee!

I just bought a cuckoo clock at an antique shop in another state and it was working just fine, but I can’t figure it out. It cuckoo’s just fine, but the pendulum won’t swing back and forth to keep the time going. The weights are pulled all the way to the top. ANyone know how to fix the pendulum? Thanks

The weights on the clock wont move and the cuckoo birds do not come out and cuckoo. How can we fix this problem? BTW the cuckoo whistles work as well as the bellows just not the birds and the weights.

I have an 8 day cuckoo clock and it has been working fine for quite some time (it was passed down to me, it is know around 40 years old). I have recently noticed that after I wind it and start it again it will stop just a few hours after I wound it. I know it didn’t pull the weights too high because there are rings stopping that. Is this anything I can fix myself?
