I recently received a wall clock from my grandmother – there is little known about it, but I found a piece of paper inside under the weight that my grandfather had written on. According to this note, the clock is likely early 19th century and it is called a “Chandler” clock. If anyone has any info on this type of clock, and/or knows of a good website to get information on antiques or a book or pricing guide, I’d really appreciate the help.

Old time cuckoo clock?

John Doe asked:

My grandmother was talking about a clock that she had wished she could find, that was similar the one she had when she was a kid. The clock is apparently a cuckoo clock that doubles as a weather clock. Apparently if it is going to rain, a little boy comes out, and if its sunny a little girl comes out. Or something like that. Anyways, does anyone know what kind of clock this is, or where to buy one?

My grandmother has an old grandfather clock (an electric one however) and she beleives the motor of it broke and doesn’t function anymore. Where would I get info about finding a new motor, or replacing it? Would using the motor of another clock work?
