I have a cuckoo clock that I am not sure how to work it. It was working then the left weight ran out of chain and the other two stayed there and clock stopped. Where can I get some kind of directions?
My cuckoo clock stopped ticking. I removed the back cover and noticed that the mechanism is dry and dusty.I was thinking of using brake parts cleaner. It is an old 8 day clock.
Thanks

I just bought a cuckoo clock at an antique shop in another state and it was working just fine, but I can’t figure it out. It cuckoo’s just fine, but the pendulum won’t swing back and forth to keep the time going. The weights are pulled all the way to the top. ANyone know how to fix the pendulum? Thanks

Well, the hours passed and the beer was going down way too easy. At around 2:30 a.m., drunk as a skunk, I headed for home. Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock in the hall started up and cuckooed 3 times. Quickly, I realized she’d probably wake up, so I cuckooed another 9 times. I was really proud of myself, having a quick-witted solution, even when smashed, to escape a possible conflict.
The next morning my wife asked me what time I got in, and I told her twelve o’clock. She didn’t seem disturbed at all. Whew! Got away with that one!
She then told me that we needed a new cuckoo clock.
When I asked her why, she said, “Well, last night our clock cuckooed three times, then said “uh-oh,” cuckooed 4 more times, cleared its throat, cuckooed another 3 times, giggled, cuckooed twice more, and then ******.”

I just want to know if there’s a way to take the bellows and internal workings out of a traditional pendulum-driven cuckoo clock and then being able to put it back together again without breaking anything. I noticed that the bellows are held in each by one screw, but is it glued too? And the clock movements? Any way to easily take those out?
