The fabric of an ancient cross-sewing project has yellowed with age. Any idea to get rid of the color? ?
I have a poinsettia crown cross stitched in white cloth. I want to be careful not to ruin the fabric or design of the cross-stitched. Please provide details materials to use and how. Thank you in advance.
Treatment laundry will help you get the yellow out. Wash gently by hand your project with a mild detergent and a few tablespoons borax, arm and hammer or white vinegar. Soak for 10 to 15 minutes, rinse, let dry and gently press with an iron on low heat. For best results, use an ironing pad face down on the project and a press cloth between her and iron. You can buy a carpet shop board the craft or most fabric stores. This will prevent the flattening of the limit when you apply the hot iron. I used the laundry treatment of white cotton shirts that have yellowed after a few washings and wearing, which have come down fairly well with the ultimate goal.
