What are the differences between the lines of German Shepherds, DDR, namely West Germany and the Czech Republic?

I GSD puppy this fall. I opted for a line of DDR, I like the look of these better. I work with a breeder. I hold opinions and information from other knowledge owners, breeders and trainers of the EAG on the different types, as the Czech Republic, DDR and West Germany. What are the qualities of each? I am looking for a dog to be essentially a companion with some agility and possibly therapeutic work on the road. I have a lot of time and space for him to be our only dog. I have lots of experience dog, but this is my shepherd, at first. I am interested in all the American lines. Thank you!

I can not say I am very well informed or experienced, but I did some research on different types or lines of EAG. I agree with you on the aspect of the Czech Republic / DDR lines and if I had to get a puppy from a breeder is the guy I wanted. Czech DDR lines are very similar, in fact there is a difference significantly between the two that I could find. These lines tend to have a lot of practice and often require active family, but work home. They also need an owner who will be firm, fair and consistent. Working with a breeder who knows what your goals are your best asset to find a dog of these lines will work with your family. The lines of West Germany is divided into type of work and program lines, with work with lines more unity between the lines of the program. Show German lines typically do not show a lot of hype that American model and May are more likely to have a temperament suitable for PET / family life. The West German lines tend to be larger and have more substance than the East Germany (Czech Republic / DDR) lines. They are also more likely to have deep, rich red, while that the lines are the East Germany Nice prone to dark sand. Regardless of the type that will ultimately, it is important to work closely with a breeder who not only knows his dogs, but also realize their goals and aspirations for your dog. Find a breeder that has activities that you interest with their dogs or puppies that have had successful litters in activities that interested he is, of course, in addition to health and temperament tests.
