Just received an antique calendar clock- have questions?
My husband just received an antique calendar clock from his grandparents’ farm. The clock itself has two faces- the top is a hour/minute face and the bottom one has the days of the month with two holes that show the day of the week and month. The pendulum is hidden behind the faces.
We’ve been searching online for any information about the clock, but we haven’t been able to find a similar style. This one is on a pedestal so its grandfather clock sized, and the top is flat, not peaked or octagonal or rounded.
Some not so smart family member painted over the maker information on the faces years ago, and we’re hesitant to try removing the paint without damaging the faces.
I’ve searched the Itaca clock company website and haven’t found any clock that is similar. Are there any other reference sources with pictures we should be checking against?
Thank you so much for any information or help!
