Beak 49 asked:

I need to transport a large Howard Miller grandfather clock from PA to MD, about 250 miles. It is new and still in the box. Does it have to be hauled upright, or can it be laid flat??

There may be a locking mechanism on it, but it is still probably smartest to keep it vertical.

If it is still in the box, the pendulum and weights should not be installed. For that reason, you should be able to move it laying down.

Go to howardmiller.com they have a customer support and I bet they can answer your question.
