What the Mayan calendar really say?

I only know that the timetable in 2012 ending December 21, but is it? Is it really explain what will happen as all the movies or just to say a final? I heard that only the ends, but I want more! Any citations would be good too lol good:) Thanks!

The cycles are most relevant to what might happen in 2012. 25,625 years ago, the "Galactic Day" and the year 5125 "long history" (Great Cycle).
