Antique Siekosha Regulator Clock stopped,did wind to tight?

The clock was working fine the first time I wound (turned each side approx. 5-6 times. The clock ticked and kept perfect time, for 3 days. Then it quit; needed wound (8 day clock); so I wound each side probably 8 times. The clock is not running at all now. Please HELP!!!!
